With reference to your letter on Dec.23rd,i'd like to ,first of all,convey my deepest appreciation to your offering me the position of manager assistant in your company.And i am more than delighted and honored to gain your trust and assignment.

However,i have to decline this unexpected offer whih all unwillingness, which mainly results from an abrupt change in my schedule. when i applied for the position a week ago , i aslo sent an application to cloumbia University, for i hadn't yet made up my nind whether to start work afger graduation this month . What a coincidence ! i got the adminttance to the graduate school of English literrature in Columbia University the same day i received your letter. Weighing the pros and cons for an entire night ,i determine to seize the changce for further study abroad.

With my earnest apology, i do hop you can pay me due understanding and forgiveness for turning down your offer. in closing ,may your company have great prospects and enjoy extensive popularity.

今年，我参加了“英语演讲”体验活动，到了现场，大家都在讨论关于演讲的要领，当然，我和我的.朋友皓琳也在紧张的讨论，皓琳问我:“你紧张吗？”我不说紧张不紧张，却反问她:“你紧张吗？”“我很紧张，手都在都呢！”突然，工作人员进来，说要抽号，我心里在想:我会抽到一个什么号码呢？我希望抽到一个居中的号码，这样好缓解一下紧张的情绪。

开始抽号了，我第17个抽，皓琳是第18个抽，她抽到了11号，我抽到了16号，太好了，我心里暗暗窃喜！抽号环节结束了，我们被带到了一个大厅里开始比赛。

首先上场的1号选手，接着是2号、3号……终于到我了，我做了两个深呼吸，自信的走上台。演讲中，我完全投入到角色里，演讲的非常精彩！当我演讲完，台下响起了热烈的掌声。

我不能放松，因为还有一个环节，即兴问答，评委问了我两个问题，我都对答如流，最终，我晋级了市决赛！

我这次英语演讲体验，让我感受到:只要你用心去做事，总能收获很多。台上一分钟，台下十年功！我要继续加油，争取英语演讲进入河南省决赛！

Classes begin at 8:00. I have four classes in the morning. I study English, Chinaese, math, biology, history and some other subject. I like English very much, I also like music. But I don't like geography at all. Because it’s very boring. Do you think so?

I often have lunch at school, in the afternoon. I have four classes, too. After school, we have outdoor actives. I usually play basketball with my classmates and sometimes I read books at school library. You must keep quiet at school library.

They think in this way because scores have always been the only means to tell whether a student has a good command of the subject they have learned. To illustrate, they say scores are often used to determine whether a student should go to college or not. Scores are also used to decide whether he can further his study after graduation. Scores are still used to decide whether he can get a job in the job market. Others, on the other hand, holdthat scores are not so important as practical knowledge. They suggest that students with high scores at school are not necessarily competent in their work after graduation. Our society does not need those who can perform very well in examinations; instead, it needs those with practical skills.

I think both of the above views have their limitations. Having lots of theoretical knowledge without enough practical skills is no good, nor is having lots of practical skills without enough theoretical knowledge. Only when we have a combination of both, can we be called qualified students of new China.
