Study overseas can be the adventure of a lifetime, and the majority of these experiences are healthy and safe. But, unless some simple precautions are taken, a young person living without a parent in a foreign country can encounter cultural disorientation and real, physical dangers. While auto and motorcycle accidents are a primary cause for concern, there are a host of other factors that need to be considered, preferably, well in advance of a students departure.

There are the familiar risks of unsafe sex and illegal drugs. No different from home, you say? Traveling students and their parents often dont realize how cultural and legal differences can enhance these risk factors. Simply put, what is safe or tolerated behavior in the United States can be interpreted quite differently in a foreign country.

In a strange place with new rules, even responsible teenagers may occasionally lose their heads and take chances that they wouldnt normally take, like traveling unaccompanied to a strange country, not telling anyone where they are, or buying or selling on the black market. As a result, young travelers can easily find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

1. 续签时间

在签证到期前三个月时就要开始考虑续签了。

续签有三种方式：邮寄，面签，通过学校续签

邮寄方式：应该在前签证到期前4周内以英国的recorded delivery(挂号件)或者special delivery(快递邮件，更保险)的方式邮寄到UK Border Agency。签证费 406英镑。

面签(需要预约)：如果需要加急办理，同学们需要在签证到期日之前4周时，到位于Crydon的内政部移民局中心申请。签证费 781英镑。

为了方便学生申请续签，英国移民局联合英国各校，学生可以通过于学校联系，办理续签，而英国移民局会统一于学校联系。这是最保险，最安心的申请方式了。

2. 续签材料：

护照

照片(3张白底，在自助证件照相机上就可以照，需在背面签上你的姓名)

续签申请表(可以在www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk下载)

警察局注册证明(如果换地址要及时与警察局联系改地址，地址需要与银行对账单，学校注册，申请表的地址相符合)

3个月的银行对账单(需要学费+生活费，如果已经交过学费，只要生活费+学校付费单就可以了)

学校在读证明。如果在读课程即将结束，则需要提供下一个课程的无条件录取通知书。

读语言和预科的同学需要提供出勤记录(出勤率不能低于80%)和在读期间的成绩单。

本科升硕士的同学需要提供本科的成绩单和学位证书。

付：以上材料需要提供原件，申请递交之前最好自己保留一份复印件。

3. 回国办理续签

如果因为种种情况，必须要回国办理续签，材料跟在英国续签大致是一样的，但是申请表不同，可以在英国驻中国大使馆网站下载。同时也要提供资金的来源，历史说明以及资金担保人的工作证明。

the whole city was dipped in warm light, when we arrived. god! i hardly made out this temple because the whole block was filled with people. we could move our feet just a little at a time. now you may have the idea how many people there were. but it was amazing that the crowd was so quiet. worshippers, one by one, seriously knelt down before the statue of the buddha. i thought that i hadn’t done anything as earnestly as them when i saw those worshippers praying so devoutly. everyone kept quiet, closed his eyes. i seemed like that there was only him in this world. i was shocked. from them, i felt the strength of belief. i learnt that not only the belief of the buddhism, but also the beliefs of all the beautiful things can enable us to be successful. once we get our belief, the eternal spirit shall help us overcome all the difficulties we might meet with.

i raised my head and saw the buddha smiling to me so mystically.

教老师学英语、单词运动会、走出迷宫、等等新颖有趣的项目对于大胆聪明的我们都是小菜一碟，我们毫不费工夫把英语水平发挥得淋漓尽致，但是，唯独跳蚤市场让我们背上了一个沉重的大包袱。跳蚤市场获得的金额拿回本金，其它的要捐给困难儿童，这次活动也是考验一个团队的能力、智慧以及是经济头脑。

首先，我们凑足了义卖小组人数，再把店名、口号、岗位一一定下，紧接着又是计划书、服装、宣传等等琐事，最最重要且麻烦的问题就是：货源！我们知道必须在一个星期内准备好充足的货源，这个货源并不是想定就可以定的，要考虑好不好卖、卖不好怎么处理、本金会不会太昂贵等等，于是，在周末时就发动了小组内的“精英”去各大商场寻货源。

琳琅满目的物品弄得我这个总策划不知从何下手，反复与组员们探讨，慎重考虑后决定以旧物为大目标，把一些零七八碎的小东西作为小方向，其实也不是很慎重，就像是圆桌会议一般，举手平等表决，认为旧物最不费本金，且大家的旧物大半部分都是半新的，或是根本就舍不得用的小玩意儿。

确定了方向，我们就赶紧分配任务，发动了全班一齐捐赠旧物。功夫不负有心人，团结就是力量，短短两天已经收获了一箱的旧物，与其说是旧物，还不如说是没用过几遍的东西呢！

计划书、货源、宣传一切都被我们人才济济“Whisper·呓语”小组搞定啦！我们期待着在星期五的义卖活动。

Besides, maybe sometimes a beautiful face can help a girl acquire a good position, but in the long run(长久看来) it is her talent not her look that really works in her career development.(强调句)

In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.
