Advertisements are everywhere in this world. Through advertisement, people know about a product. Some people think that advertising is generally helpful, while others feel it is annoying. In my opinion, advertisements have both advantages and disadvantages.

On one hand, advertisement provide us with the most direct, comprehensive and detailed information. With advertisement, people can know where the products are available, when we go shopping, we can use the advertisements on TV to know the products effects and prices, it can save some time and money. Some advertisement can even provide entertainment. Some slogans of the advertisements are quite funny and full of positive energy.

On the other hand, advertisement can be harmful. Sometimes, they are misleading and cheating. Some advertisements just full of empty words and the consumers will fall for them. Some advertisers just care about money making, they like to exaggerate the benefits of the goods so that they can gain more profits. Thus, we should pay attention to such kind of advertisements.

To sum up, consumers should be a wise shopper. Do not fall for the fake products. And the governments should do somethings to protect our rights.

There is only one definition of success-to be able to spend your life in your own way. To what extent do you agree or disagree-with this definition of success? Support your position by using reasons and examples from your reading, your own experience, or your observation of others.

Some people define success simply as the ability to choose how to spend ones life. Under this definition, people who have the freedom to do whatever they want at any time they choose would presumably be the most successful ones, while those who have no such freedom would be the biggest failures. Viewing the definition in this light reveals three serious problems with it.

The chief problem with this definition of success is that by the definition nearly all people would be regarded as failures. The reason for this is simple. Most people have extremely limited choices in what they can do and when they can do it. In other words, unrestricted freedom of choice is a luxury only a few people-perhaps a handful of tyrannical dictators and ultra-wealthy individuals-can afford.

Secondly, people who have a high degree of freedom in choosing their lifestyle often acquire it through means that would not earn them the accolade of being successful. For example, lottery winners or people who inherit a great deal of money may be able to spend their life in any way they choose, but few people would regard them as successful merely due to their financial fortune.

At our school , we have to wear uniforms every day. The problem is that all my classmates think the uniforms are ugly. We think young people should look smart and so we would like to wear our own clothes. Our teachers believe that if we did that. We would concentrate more on our clothes than our studies.

We disagree. We should feel more comfortable and thate is good for studying. If we cant do that, we should be allowed to design our own uniforms. We also think everyone should be different from others. That would be a good way to keep both teachers and students happy.

Mencius said: he was born with sorrow, and died of happiness. Suffering and ease are also a way of life. But one can cultivate faith, one can only sow mediocrity. Zoologist experiments show that the existence of the wolves made the antelope, robust, without the threat of wolves, antelope in a comfortable environment become fragile, once encounter wolves, can only be eaten. The same applies to humans. Real life needs suffering. People who are depressed are shallow when they meet with adversity. A person who is upset or upset is vulnerable. One does not understand the hardships of life, and it is easy to be arrogant and proud. The man who has not tasted the hardships of life is often difficult to do.

Today, after school, I saw a bird in the lawn. It jumped and jumped. I caught it as soon as I ran after it. I saw that its feathers were wet by the rain, and it shivered and felt cold.

I took it to the room, and soon its feathers were dry. I saw that the rain had stopped outside, so I put it outside and let it find its mother!

Have you ever wondered how motion pictures affect you? Research studies show that movies do affect you, for good or ill, in quite different ways. Motion pictures give you information and add it to your store of knowledge. The films you see influence your ideas of right and wrong more than you may realize. When you see pictures presenting certain kinds of people or certain ideas in either a favorable or an unfavorable light, you tend to develop a similar feeling toward them.

Motion pictures may also affect your emotions. When you go to the movies, your emotions are stimulated. This is part of the motion picture magic. Film fashions in conduct, speech, and appearance do affect you. So let the things you learn be suited to your own way of living.

The history of life on earth has been a history of interaction between living things and their surroundings. To a large extent, the physical form and the habits of the earth’s vegetation and its animal life have been molded by the environment. Only in the present century has one species of man acquired significant power to alter the nature of his world.

The rapidity of change follows the pace of man rather than the pace of nature. Radiation is now the unnatural creation of man’s tampering with the atom. The chemicals are creations of man’s inventive mind, having no counterparts in nature.

We have put poisonous and biological potent chemicals into hands of persons largely ignorant of their potentials for harm. We have subjected enormous numbers of people to contact with these poisons, without their consent and often without their knowledge. We have allowed these chemicals to be used with little or no advance investigation of their effect. Future generations are unlikely to forgive our lack of concern. (170 words)
