One of my favourite hobby is reading. Reading has been in my life for many years, since I began to learn characters. It can not only kill the time, but also, more important, help improve my comprehension ability. When reading, I can learn a lot. Reading Shakespear's works, I know how Hamlet looks like. Reading Scorates, I can see how great ancient Greek philosophers are. Reading Lu Xu, I come back to the old time of China.

On the other hand, the meat and fish has increased rapidly. The changes in diet can be accounted for by a number of factors. First, people are much wealthier than before. With higher income,they can afford to buy good foods. Another factor is that people have realized the importance of a balanced diet to their health. Lack of certain amount of meat or milk,for example, will result in poor health. Finally, owing to the eeonomic reform, meat, chicken, fish and milk, which were scarce in the past, are produced in large quantities. For all these reasons, what was formerly called "the basket of vegetables" has. To sum up, insignificant as those changes may seem, they are the signs of the improved economic condition in China. We believe that as long as the effort continuous in reform and opening to the outside world, there will be greater changes in people's diet in the future.

来的人不多，只有寥寥几个人，我环顾四周，我们班同学一个都没来，于是我先坐在那里，看着英语课本，思索着这次的比赛。

这次比赛是由一人问，一人回答的`形式进行的，而不是往常题海中的埋头奋战。口语可是我的强项，因为我经常参加朗诵比赛，而且也很外向，这次应该不成问题的。虽说这次是英语口语比赛，可是我做足了功课，把英国人见面最容易谈论了一些日常用语和课本上的句型都记住了。再加上英语老师的不断灌输知识，还有校讯通文库上下载下来的各种知识，就不成问题啦！

复习了几个单元，同学们才陆续地来到了这考试教室，大家在热切地讨论着，互相凑过来提问，纠正发音和语法错误，干的热火朝天，我也不甘落后，和大家一起背书，每个人都是一种信心满满的样子。

到了两点，老师走了进来，大家一下子安静下来，老师慢吞吞地说：“这次考试，要到另外一间教室去，叫到谁的号谁去，只能进去不能出来，做完了题，就在那间教室里等着不能出来。”只进不出！恐怕是防止泄露考题吧，哼，怕什么，不就是考试那小子！

我是七号，嗯……有点靠前了，一共三十六个人呢！不过也不用紧张，我反复地练习着句子，不去想那些紧张的事情。

很快就叫到我了，我昂首挺胸地走进教室，一位男老师和一位女老师并排坐着，那位男老师是我们学校的英语老师，那位女老师好像是别的学校的。

男老师说：“抽五道题目。”哇，还要抽签！我抽取了男老师手中的五张牌，递给女老师，女老师看了一下，向我提出问题：“How can I get to the Beijing?”这个我知道，我胸有成竹地说：“I go to Beijing by plane.”紧接着老师又抛出一个问题：“What does your mother do?”这我也会，我又回答：“She is an accountant.”前面的题都顺利过关了，到了最后一个问题：“where are you going to after school?”唉！什么意思？我顿时从头凉到脚，糟糕！一题两分，一共十分，不要！我紧张地在脑海中思索着这句话，是课本上？还是别的地方？我把脑海里所有的东西都翻了出来，可是这句话又在哪儿呢？只好……呜呜。

当我失落地走向座位时，脑海里突然灵光一现“你放学之后去哪儿？”清晰地印在我脑子里，唉，可是为时已晚！只好叹息了。

不过过了一秒钟我又开心起来了，It doesn't matter,这只是一次小小的考验，是来磨练我们的，失败了也没关系，要有平常心的吗？大家说，是不是？

总之这件事是过去了，好了，现在我要去好好睡上一觉了！都九点多了，Bye！
