学英语作文 篇1
My View on the Post-graduate Craze
Every year, million of college students will sit in for the post-graduate entrance examination. More and more students have regarded the pursuing of a master degree as an indispensable part of their education. What is to account for their enthusiasm for a post-graduate diploma?
First, it is the demand of the time. In an age of knowledge updating and information explosion, what you have learned in college can hardly meet the demand of society. Talents of high quality who are equipped with the latest knowledge and skill will be needed more than ever. That is why many students will further their studies.
Second, we all recognize that the more education you have, the more likely you are to succeed. Compared with those without a master degree, masters will enjoy more preferential treatment, for example, better salaries, more opportunities for promotion and training. A post-graduate degree can guarantee a more promising career.
Last but not least, with the graduation of a large number of college students, competition for jobs becomes more and more fierce. One way to gain some advantage over others is to have a higher degree.
No wonder millions of students will consider pursuing a post-graduate degree.

提纲
1.有人认为应多工作。
2.有人认为应多娱乐。
3.我认为……
work and play are two important parts in people's life, but some times they are contradictory, whether we can balance them has much to do with our success.
some people think that we should do more work, because everyone has a limited life, and we should make as many contributions as we can to society. besides, we can acquire more knowledge and gain more eperience by hard work, which will help us a lot later in our life.
others believe that we should spare enough time for play. there is a saying that all work and no play makes john a dull boy. play makes people feel relaed and free them from the stress of work.
in this sense, it is also beneficial to our health. so if we don't play, we can't work well. in my opinion, we should do more work when we are young be cause we are energetic, and we can spend more time playing and enjoying our life when we become aged. of course, we should never overdo things and never indulge ourselves with play.

学英语作文 篇5
as the water frothed,
and the sun did go,
the dark brought forth a tear,
i sat up high,
upon my rock,
no one would see me here.
when all is lost,
i stare alas,
and listen to the oceans prayer,
you must listen close,
her words are soft,
yet, they are always there.
she knows how you pain,
when the light is gone,
and the dark tells you lies,
she says to you,
that no matter what,
the sun will always rise.
and when it comes,
it pierces the horizon,
showing the dark no fear,
for the light comes every day,
each morning,
to dry up that fallen tear.
学英语作文 篇6
a folk culture is a small isolated, cohesive, conservative, nearly self-sufficient group that is homogeneous in custom and race with a strong family or clan structure and highly developed rituals. order is maintained through sanctions based in the religion or family and interpersonal. relationships are strong. tradition is paramount, and change comes infrequently and slowly. there is relatively little division of labor into specialized duties. rather, each person is epected to perform a great variety of tasks, though duties may differ between the sees. most goods are handmade and subsistence economy prevails. individualism is weakly developed in folk cultures as are social classes. unaltered folk cultures no longer eist in industrialized countries such as the united states and canada. perhaps the nearest modern equivalent in anglo america is the amish, a german american farming sect that largely renounces the products and labor saving devices of the industrial age. in amish areas, horse drawn buggies still serve as a local transportation device and the faithful are not permitted to own automobiles. the amish's central religious concept of demut "humility", clearly reflects the weakness of individualism and social class so typical of folk cultures and there is a corresponding strength of amish group identity. rarely do the amish marry outside their sect. the religion, a variety of the mennonite faith, provides the principal mechanism for maintaining order.
by contrast a popular culture is a large heterogeneous group often highly individualistic and a pronounced many specialized professions. secular institutions of control such as the police and army take the place of religion and family in maintaining order, and a money-based economy prevails. because of these contrasts, "popular" may be viewed as clearly different from "folk". the popular is replacing the folk in industrialized countries and in many developing nations. folk-made objects give way to their popular equivalent, usually because the popular item is more quickly or cheaply produced, is easier or time saving to use or leads more prestige to the owner.
