一、研究背景

我国中学英语写作教学一直是令师生感到头痛的问题。尽管教师和学生在写作方面做了很多努力，但英语写作仍然属于薄弱环节。究其原因，一是教材编排问题。在现行的教材中，写仍然体现为巩固听、说、读的手段，没有作为知识在教材中系统阐述。实际上写作不仅是巩固和强化知识和技能的手段，其本身还具有知识体系属性。而这种知识体系在教材设计中没有得到重视，使得写作总是处于边缘化状态。二是不少教师对写作训练的认识存在误区，认为写作训练仅是一种巩固与练习的手段。绝大多数教师认为英语写作教学“高耗低效”，对短期快速提升学生的英语学习成绩贡献不大，觉得英语写作教学可有可无，对此不够重视。教师的教学思想和行为无形当中会影响学生对英语写作的态度、观念和评价，致使学生普遍对英语写作缺乏热情、信心和积极性。三是写作知识学习和技能训练缺乏有效的教学策略和模式）。大多数教师的教学模式是：教师布置写作任务――学生课外独立完成――教师独自批改――教师念范文――学生背范文。教师对学生习作的反馈往往只是一个分数，有时也画出学生的语言错误，但大多数学生只关心分数的高低，对教师的反馈往往看一眼就塞到书包里去了，类似甚至同样的错误在以后的写作中依旧出现。

二、主题写作活动的定义及概述

主题写作活动是以一定的话题为中心，以单元目标语言为依托，围绕单元目标词汇和语言结构展开的话题性写作活动。在课堂教学实践中，主题写作活动是以拓展单元目标语言为出发点，以培养学生的英语写作能力为重点，以提高学生的英语写作能力为重点，以提高学生的综合语言运用能力为目的的写作活动。

确立正确的英语写作教学观念，改变中学英语写作教学的薄弱状况，是主题写作活动的意义所在。在高中英语写作教学中，发展学生的主题写作能力，有利于培养学生思维的广阔性、深刻性和创造性，全面提高学生的综合语言运用能力，为学生的终身学习和全面发展奠定基础。教师要从教学实际出发，寻找方法和突破口，改进写作教学的方法和技巧。教师要善于对课程资源进行挖掘，以顺应不断更新的课程要求，让主题写作成为巩固和促进基础语言学习、提升学生写作能力的有效途径。

（一） 确立正确的英语写作教学观念

英语写作具有动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习认知属性（Reid, 1993）。学生的英语写作能力必须有写作知识的指导，让学生知道如何写，并在写作过程中将知识转化为能力。许多教师认为，只要学生动笔写作就能提高写作水平，因此一味地要求学生练习写作，但又不教给学生写作知识。学生经过一段时间的努力写作能力仍没有明显提高时，往往会失去写作兴趣。还有些教师认为，学生语法学好了，词汇量大了，阅读面广了，写作水平就会提高，因此在英语教学中花在写作知识学习和训练上的时间远不如听说和阅读的训练多。这些是误导英语写作教学的错误观念。英语写作是动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习结果，在教学实践中二者不可偏颇。
