Task：The diagrams below show the amount of energy lost in 100 units when it is generated from black coal and when it is generated from brown coal.

Sample answer：

The diagrams present how 100 units of energy lost when it is produced from black coal and brown coal.

It can be seen from the first diagram that in the beginning black coal that can generate 100 units of energy is transported to the power station where electricity is produced. During the process, 68 units is lost so only 32 units of energy remains. Before consumers get the energy from black coal, the loss of another 3 units occurs as it is distributed and transmitted.

Referring to brown coal, when it is used in the electricity generation, more units was lost (73 units) while the amount of energy lose in the stage of distribution and transmission is the same as that in black coal. Finally, the remaining 24 units of energy is gained by people.

In conclusion, it is noticeable that less energy can be available for consumers if brown coal is applied to generate electricity.

Firstly, it is high time for college students to re-learn Chinese language. For many Chinesestudents, they just learn Chinese language for examinations’ sake in elementary schools andhigh schools. In other words, many learn Chinese language to get high scores instead ofgrasping the essence of Chinese culture. In fact, we can not measure one’s understanding ofculture by how many scores he get in the examinations or how many poems and essays he hasmemorized. What matters is whether one can figure out the gist and facilitate his life throughwhat he gains from the learning. In college, students are not imposed as much pressure as inhigh school in learning Chinese language.Besides, they are more mature than in childhood andhavethe ability to think critically. Secondly, since western cultures are looming large in China with the advent of globalization,Chinese traditional culture seems to be endangered. In winter, it’s cold and snowy. Many trees don’t have any leaves. I put on my hat, scarf, mittens, and winter jacket and boots. I make snowmen.

In summer, it’s hot. Trees have cool, green leaves. I put on my shorts, T-shirt and sandals. I like to swim and skip. I wear swimsuit to swim in the swimming pool.

In fall, the trees lose their leaves. What colour are fall leaves? The weather is cool. I take off my shorts and T-shirt put on my pants and sweater.
