This past year, I was auditioning for the fall play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. To my detriment I thought it would be a good idea to watch the movie in order to prepare. For two hours I studied Elizabeth Taylors mannerisms, attitude, and diction, hoping I could mimic her performance.

I auditioned for the part of Maggie feeling perfectly confident in my portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor, however, I was unaware that my director saw exactly what I had been thinking. Unfortunately, I didnt get the part, and my director told me that he needed to see Maggie from my perspective, not Elizabeth Taylors.

I learned from this experience, and promised myself I would not try to imitate another actress, in order to create my character.

Persevering, I was anxious to audition for the winter play just two months later. The play was Neil Simons Rumors, and would get the opportunity to play Chris, a sarcastic yet witty role, which would be my final performance in high school. In order to develop my character, I planned out her life just as I thought it should be, gave her the voice I thought was right, and the rest of her character unfolded beautifully from there.

My director told me after the first show that Rumors was the best work hed ever seen from me, and that he was amazed at how Id developed such a believable character.

大熊猫不在高处活动，一般都在陆地上生活，跟松鼠相反。大熊猫性情孤僻，喜欢独居，并常常因为季节的变化改变居住的地方，没有固定的居住点。春天一般呆在3000米以上的`高山竹林里。夏天迁到竹枝鲜嫩的阴坡处。秋天搬到向阳山坡上准备过冬。

大熊猫体长约1·5米，重达160千克千克，黑白分明的体毛是熊猫们的特征。大熊猫一天中差不多有10-12小时再进食，一天能吃掉15-20千克的食物。人们为了农业发展，把大部分竹林砍掉了，现在有竹子的地方，也只能养活2-36只大熊猫，大熊猫被列入了国家一级保护动物的名单。

现在大熊猫越来越少了，希望人们更加爱护它，保护它。

The giant panda is a special product of our country. It is a lovely small animal and very pleasing. The giant panda can be described as a perfect vegetarian. Giant pandas like to eat bamboo shoots, but they also eat bamboo, roots and flowers. The cute face, plus a black and white sweater, looks very lovely. Pandas are the most popular animals for girls.

The giant panda is not active in high places, generally living on land, contrary to squirrels. The giant panda is solitary and likes to live alone and often has no fixed residence because of changing seasons. In the spring, it usually stays in the high mountain bamboo forest of more than 3000 meters. In the summer, we move to the shady slopes of bamboo shoots. Autumn moves to the slopes of xiangyang to prepare for the winter.

Lastly, the ethical consequences of eating dogs have been verbosely argued by animal rights activists in the west, including or especially in the U.S.. Even so, there is still no preventing Chinese people from eating dogs. For in China, no one talks about animal rights. A few scholars may be doing such research. But, it’s not even a topic for everyday Chinese people. For them, eating dog is as natural as eating a bowl of noodles. When they hear the idea that dogs should not be eaten, they just smile and shrug and quietly walk away. They are not even going to argue with you. Because here in China, awareness in animal rights has not even blossomed yet. It’s not a problem at all just like it’s not a problem to hold guns privately in the U.S.. If comparisons can be made at such terms, legal gun possession is also something that Chinese would hold as cultural shock as well. Some might argue from the perspective of American history and culture that legal gun possession is not against ethical rules. The same can be done about Chinese people’s eating dog.

All in all, what seems to be a huge cultural shock can easily be justified. Historical traditions give dog-eating historic backgrounds while realities in south-western part of China is another solid justification for such behavior. Lastly, when people think that dog eating is against animal rights, logical argumentation such as what’s the differences between dogs and pigs are not even going to be brought up in China. For in China, animal right awareness is not existent therefore, the reality is dog eating is as routine as eating pigs in the America. For those who still hold dog eating as cultural shock, maybe getting used to it is a good way to go. After all, most of the American people who come to China would love to have a taste of dog, or snake or all the other things they don’t have chance to taste back at home. Looking at things from a different perspective is not only the point of opening up one’s mind, but also what’s so great about traveling to or living in a different part of this world. This world is so big and differences so many, dog eating cannot be the worst of them all.
